Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most spectacular and dramatic treks in the Himalayas. It is located on the Pir Panjal range in the Himalayas at 14,039 feet above sea level. The valleys Kullu and Spiti are two beautiful contrasting valleys. It links the Kullu Valley and is renowned for the river, pine trees, and wild wilderness. How to reach Hampta Pass

One first has to reach Manali to get to Hampta Pass and from there they can take the taxi to the base camp. Three options are also available for you to reach Manali.

By Air

Because Manali has no airway, the closest airport is in Bhuntar, also known as the 52km-long Kullu Manali airport. You can land at the airport in Bhuntar and then take a taxi or a bus to Manali.

By Train

In Manali there is no direct rail system. The nearest railway connecting key areas is Joginder Nagar. Chandigarh and Ambala stations are other options, as the two stations are well connected to other major cities. They are also available. Many modes to Manali can be reached from here.

By Road

The way to Manali is the best. As this site has good links to major towns such as Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh and Shimla. Many bus services, including private busses such as Volvo, can be accessed very frequently. Moreover, many public buses offer services from Delhi to Manali, as well as car services from many private tourism agencies to Manali.

Hampta Pass Trek-Brief schedule

Day-1

Drive to Manali for most treks, including the Hampta Pass as the base camp. The bus stops at Mall Road from Manali and then drives to Jobra. Following a quick refreshment, start trekking to Chikka’s first base camp.

Day-2

From the second day, start with a good breakfast and walk from Chikka Camping to Balu Ka Gera and experience the thrill of the Juara Nala crossing.

Day-3

On the third day after crossing the river, the most stunning stretch of the Hampta Pass Trek begins. Following one hour of trekking, you will reach the Balu Ka Gera from where the climb to the Hampta Pass begins. After having reached and spent a few days on the top, try to return the Himalayan weather as soon as possible.

Day-4

The last day is downhill on the same route as the Juara Nala river crossing and the Chikka river, and then to the start and end of the Jobra river.

Day-5

Returning back to Manali.

The ideal time to go to Hampta

This place is the best time to walk from the middle of June to the center of October because hiking travelers can get snow in this period. August is sunny, but this place hits August before Monsoon.

For Hampta Pass Trek, things must be carried away

  • Hiking shoes of good quality with good support for ankles and grip.
  • Each member’s ID evidence.
  • Hot wear like a leather jacket, a blowjob and sweaters full sleeve
